WHAT UTOPIANS DO
The open secret is that the music industry is struggling with the very basics of music accounting: What was played, when and where? Who should get paid and how much?
Utopia Music is bridging the data gap by connecting global consumption, accurate metadata, and fast payments to an industry-wide trust platform. Our goal is to unlock creative value and enable Fair Pay For Every Play to make a better world for Music. The solutions we offer do not threaten to usurp the role of industry incumbents - it is about bringing transparency in the industry and supporting efficient royalty collection for all.
As Senior Global Compensation Manager you play a key role in driving continued growth through People & Culture programs and processes to attract and retain talent in the organization. You collaborate with management and employees alike linking the business and people agenda seamlessly. Working alongside the Global Director of Compensation and Benefits you are responsible for end-to-end global compensation programs for Utopia Music.
You provide support for continuous improvement of Utopia Music’s Compensation schemes through the development and implementation of all compensation programs globally. You offer expertise, support and consultation on compensation matters either globally, regionally or by country with general guidance. You assist, as needed, with the implementation of new and revised compensation programs, policies, and procedures to be responsive to the company’s goals and competitive practices. You are vital in ensuring company compensation plans are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations on a global, regional, and country level. You report to the Global Director of Compensations and Benefits.
Subject matter expert for all everything relating to global compensation
Develop strong and effective team relationships within the People and Culture functions, Centers of Excellence, payroll, and external vendors
Develop and manage the end-to-end annual salary planning processes and other merit increase programs for employees
Own and manage the half yearly bonus program
Conduct market analysis and compensation studies and formulate recommendations on promotions, internal equity, market pay adjustments and external salary offers etc.
Participate in global compensation and market surveys
Develop and manage weekly TA cadence and monthly promotion cadence including all preparation not limited to benchmarking, invites, approvals etc.
Conduct job evaluation on new and existing roles for the purposes of determining trade union and works council status as necessary, input into the global job design, titling and ranges as necessary
Ensure all compensation programs, policies and procedures comply with country and local laws/regulations
Manage market data survey system and HRIS as appropriate
Participate and/or manage compensation projects as required
Participate in determining innovative and scalable global solutions
Provide reports and analysis as required by senior managers
Responsible for any equal pay audits globally as required
Being an ambassador of our values and constantly ensuring the wellbeing of our unique Utopia culture, aligning all People & Culture activities with organisational objectives
The job will require frequent travels to the sites supported by the role
10+ years in Compensation & Benefits
Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Economics
Extensive knowledge of Global Compensation & Benefits programs, policies, procedures and applicable legislation
Fluency in English is a must, any additional language is a plus!
Strong passion for People & Culture, enthusiastic team player who embraces change
Sound and current knowledge of global, regional and country compensation laws and regulations
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Highest degree of discretion and confidentiality
Excellent analytical skills
Ability to exercise good judgment when making decisions
High level of business acumen and awareness
Expert communicator and presenter
Hands-on experience with HRIS, compensation and benefit systems
Solid understanding of job evaluation and job analysis requirements
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong Excel proficiency (pivot tables, vlookups, data manipulation)
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a dynamic environment
Obsessive attention to detail

Every morning after breakfast we gather in our teams to plan the day, assign tasks to kickstart the days. Agile, fast and inventive is how we like it. That also gives us room to pair up or hold a workshop if we need help in finding the best solution.
