WHAT UTOPIANS DO
The open secret is that the music industry is struggling with the very basics of music accounting: What was played, when and where? Who should get paid and how much?
Utopia Music is bridging the data gap by connecting global consumption, accurate metadata, and fast payments to an industry-wide trust platform. Our goal is to unlock creative value and enable Fair Pay For Every Play to make a better world for Music. The solutions we offer do not threaten to usurp the role of industry incumbents - it is about bringing transparency in the industry and supporting efficient royalty collection for all.
THE ROLE
As a Backend developer you’re part of the UGC Royalty Collection team. In this role, you implement the backend technical modules, driven by customer value, and support the tech leader in designing the global solution. Your role is an important part of modernizing the music Industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement, test and support the backend technical modules
- Support the technical leader in designing and building the global architecture, and in picking the rights tools, libraries and frameworks
- Provide technical solutions to business requirements
- Collaborate with the other members of the team (back and front developers)
- Ensure the availability of the system.
- Be part of the overall application lifecycle with particular focus on improving its technical architecture and user experience
- Follow agile development methodologies
REQUIREMENTS
- At least three years of experience as software engineer
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or similar proven skills
- Programming experience with Java/ Scala. Experience with Node.js/ Golang is a plus.
- Knowledge of GCP
- Familiar with agile product development, having experience working in a cross functional team is a bonus
- Experience with MongoDB and SQL is a plus
- Good communication skills, fluency in English
- Ability to learn new things quickly and contribute to the best solution for the team
