WHAT UTOPIANS DO

The open secret is that the music industry is struggling with the very basics of music accounting: What was played, when and where? Who should get paid and how much?

Utopia Music is bridging the data gap by connecting global consumption, accurate metadata, and fast payments to an industry-wide trust platform. Our goal is to unlock creative value and enable Fair Pay For Every Play to make a better world for Music. The solutions we offer do not threaten to usurp the role of industry incumbents - it is about bringing transparency in the industry and supporting efficient royalty collection for all.


THE ROLE

We’re looking for an exceptional Product Manager within the Creator Services Business Unit.

The ideal candidate for this role will have extensive experience in product development, and ideally some working knowledge of the music industry. They should have experience delivering innovative and scalable technology solutions with a particular focus on big data and delightful UX. Most importantly, they will possess a strong inner drive to delight users, enjoy working with some of the smartest professionals in the industry, and truly be a part of something unique that will have a lasting impact on the whole music industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Working closely with your colleagues in Engineering, Data and Design, you will participate actively in the success of the Utopia Creator Services Business Unit and the overall Utopia strategic objectives
• You will develop the strategy for continuing to engage and delight existing users of Creator Services products, while also evolving the product strategy for long-term success.
• You will drive the execution of all product lifecycle processes for a product within the Creator Services Business Unit, including product research, market research, competitive analysis, planning, positioning, roadmap development, requirements development, and product launch
• You will scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact
• You will collaborate closely with marketing, commercial, and sales teams to ensure success for the entire organization
• You will drive product launches including working with public relations team, executives, and other product creation team members

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years professional experience in product management
• Proven success driving growth innovative services through sustained user-centered product innovation
• A strong history of relationship building and collaboration with Engineering, Data, and Design organizations
• Exceptional ability to collaborate with business stakeholders
• Ability to lead and establish effective working relationships across a complex environment spanning multiple geographies
• Excellent communication skills; you know how to speak tech, data, and product fluently
• Experience with translating big data / large data sets in elegant UX
• Passion for the music tech space
• Advanced degree in relevant field or highly relevant experience in lieu of education
