WHAT UTOPIANS DO
The open secret is that the music industry is struggling with the very basics of music accounting: What was played, when and where? Who should get paid and how much?
Utopia Music is bridging the data gap by connecting global consumption, accurate metadata, and fast payments to an industry-wide trust platform. Our goal is to unlock creative value and enable Fair Pay For Every Play to make a better world for Music. The solutions we offer do not threaten to usurp the role of industry incumbents - it is about bringing transparency in the industry and supporting efficient royalty collection for all.
THE ROLE
As a Customer Solutions Engineer you are part of Customer Operations organization responsible for the successful completion of the customer projects and overall customer success. Your role is an important part of modernizing the music industry.
You provide technical product knowledge and support during the whole customer lifecycle from sales to delivery to support phase, completing deployment of the product and solving technical challenges with the customers and their partners.
In this role you will work closely with the business teams in Europe and engineering and product teams in Helsinki and Stockholm. You are actively involved in developing and delivering for customers and also interacting very closely with core engineering and data teams to contribute to product development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Planning and completing technical tasks in customer projects and integration
- Joining and contributing to product development
- Solving technical problems and challenges with our customers and their partners as part of our customer support team
- Increasing our efficiency by building automation and tools to enable smooth onboarding, use and support for our products.
- Supporting customer-facing people and teams with technical competence.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least three years of experience working in technical roles in customer-facing projects or customer support
- Technical skills and competence with programming languages (for example Python, Golang, Node.js, React), data mapping technologies, and SQL.
- Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience in the music industry, especially understanding copyrights and rights management, is a benefit.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (when it’s safe to travel) and work closely with customers in US, Europe and also other parts of the world.
