WHAT UTOPIANS DO
The open secret is that the music industry is struggling with the very basics of music accounting: What was played, when and where? Who should get paid and how much?
Utopia Music is bridging the data gap by connecting global consumption, accurate metadata, and fast payments to an industry-wide trust platform. Our goal is to unlock creative value and enable Fair Pay For Every Play to make a better world for Music. The solutions we offer do not threaten to usurp the role of industry incumbents - it is about bringing transparency in the industry and supporting efficient royalty collection for all.
THE ROLE
The mission of Product Creation Operations (PC Ops) at Utopia is to empower our cross-functional Product Creation Teams (a.k.a. Squads) to be outcome driven, customer focused, and operate in an environment that encourages continuous discovery and delivery.
PC Ops has 3 pillars: Product Operations, Coaching, and Program Management.
As a Discovery Coach will join the Coaching Team and report to the Director of Coaching. The Coaching team has both Product Discovery Coaches & Agile Delivery Coaches. Together, you will identify the Squads that can leverage your experiences the most to create the largest impact towards the PC Ops Mission.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- You will act as a thought leader and trusted expert to establish a strong product-centric culture, extending your expert knowledge of product management mechanisms and best practices across the different Business Units and their Squads.
- You will act as a product leader within the organisation and actively Coach Squad Leads (i.e. Product Managers, Product Designers, and Engineering Managers) in adopting state of the art product & design practices helping them discover, deliver, launch and optimise the most ambitious and complex initiatives in Utopia Music.
- Work closely with Product Operations managers to standardise cross-functional product processes that go across business units and teams, such as strategy cadences, experimentation tracking and feedback, documentation on product features, collecting data, setting goals, creating and maintaining roadmaps, and sales enablement.
- Partner with Data, Customer Operations, Commercial, Design, UX Research, and the Market Insights Team to systematically surface customer & business insights to support Squads in their product discovery and product optimisation activities.
REQUIREMENTS
- You have extensive experience launching multiple complex customer-facing products to global markets as a product management or design leader.
You are an expert in techniques and methods of modern product discovery & product optimisation. - You are an expert in gathering business & customer insights and identifying trends from data, including combination of data from multiple sources and influencing stakeholders with data.
- You are an expert in driving change in large organisations ideally in a growth-stage startup.
- You are fluent in English - both written and verbal. Your message is crisp, clear and to the point, both in verbal and written communication. You can convey a narrative that creates clarity out of ambiguity, articulates well-conceived goals, and builds consensus amongst your peers and partners.
