WHAT UTOPIANS DO
We are building a better world for creators using exciting new technologies. The products we build are intended for the Creator community, and will become the central hub for Creators and their teams into the entire Utopia Platform. The Utopia Platform is an innovative big data technology that tracks online music sources and translates them into meaningful music consumption reports for royalty collection. The solution we’re building does not threaten to take over the role of industry incumbents - it is about bringing transparency in the industry and supporting efficient royalty collection.

THE ROLE
We work in teams of 3-5 engineers, a product manager, a designer, and a data scientist. You’ll be working on Utopia products built on the Utopia big data platform with a focus on the Creator community. We work full-stack, including the data layer, product infrastructure and user experience. We take a holistic approach to product creation from data to robust backend and customer experience. Depending on your experience and strengths, we will find the right role for you in the new team. We’re looking for a Lead Generalist Developer, as well as senior developers.
REQUIREMENTS
- We are not dogmatic about tech stack and we welcome experienced developers with different skills.
- You are passionate about your craft, and already has several years of experience working in a Front End Engineer role as part of a product team.
- 5 years experience building user experiences for web based products.
- 2 years experience working with React or other Javascript based frameworks, good understanding of ES6 andTypeScript.
- 5 years of experience with HTML/CSS, including concepts like layout, specificity, cross browser compatibility, andaccessibility. Knowledge across the entire web stack, with modern web frameworks Next.js, React, Node.js, etc).
- Experience with browser APIs and optimizing front-end performance is a plus.
- Track record of working with the Material UI would be a plus.
- Excellent communication skills. Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Good self organization skills and strong personal integrity.
- Passion for data and data visualisation.

THE HIRING PROCESS
- You send us your CV and a cover letter in English.
- We invite you for an introductory phone/video call to get to know you better and share more about us.
- You get a programming exercise and unlimited time to send us your solution.
- Our lead developers evaluate it and we provide you with the feedback.
- Then we’ll have an interview where you will talk to one of our lead developers and the hiring manager, and one more person from our awesome interview team.

Do you like to work in teams with a lot of individual responsibility? Yes, we know it sound cliché but this is also how it actually is.
Every morning after breakfast we gather in our teams to plan the day, assign tasks to kickstart the days. Agile, fast and inventive is how we like it. That also gives us room to pair up or hold a workshop if we need help in finding the best solution.
